What Does it Take to Have a Modern Baby Shower
Baby Showers as come a long way as historically they were a way to introduce the new one to the world after being secluded with Mommy for several weeks. Now a days, almost everything goes! In Modern Baby Showers men are invited and are sometimes the star of the Shower! We have one for every pregnancy and we even tell our guests what we want them to purchase for us via gift registries. However, there are several new trends in Baby Showers that I would like to highlight.
- Mommy Advice Books – These are adorable little books that are passed around at the Baby Shower for the guests to leave their valuable parenting advice for the expecting mommy to use for years to come. For an inexpensive baby shower, use our free down-loadable one!
- Tiara and/or Mommy-to-Be Sash – help the expecting mother stand out and feel special at the Baby Shower. These can be fairly inexpensive to purchase at any department store! The Sash would be located with the Baby Shower items and the Tiara would be in the toy section.
- Invite Hubby (Significant Other) – I haven’t been to a Shower where the Hubby was not at least asked to attend. You can go over the idea with the expecting mother so you will not put her, (if he doesn’t want to go), or him on the spot. If this is a surprise baby shower, then he will most definitely be involved and needed in the planning.
- Keepsake Registry – This is a new and unique idea that you can create on your own. It is a creative and cute book that you record all the gifts received into for the mommy-to-be to keep.
- Gift Registry – If you are the mommy-to-be and feel guilty about registering for gifts —-don’t be. You take the stress out of guessing for your guests and they would be more than happy to oblige. If you are the host, try and convince the Mommy-to-be to register her gift ideas!
- Office Baby Shower – More and more expecting mothers and fathers are having more then one baby shower and this includes a baby shower at work! They are usually a bit quicker and informal but welcomed all the same.
- Diaper Cakes – These are becoming a must at a baby shower, I promise that soon it will be weird to not have a diaper cake at a baby shower! These are adorable and creative “cakes” made out of diapers and embellished with baby items like bottles, pacifiers, receiving blankets, etc.
- Designer Diaper Bags – You better believe it! You can find designer diaper bags online and what mommy-to-be wouldn’t love to have one of these as a gift!
What about Modern Baby Shower Themes and Invitations
Most Mod Mom Shower Themes have a slender expecting mother in fashionable clothing with an umbrella and sometimes a suitcase to emphasize how women do it all these days. It is also common to see a lot of polka dots ands stripes on Mod Mom party supplies. Even the wording is laid back and sometimes not grammatically correct.
